Strat and Lyndal believe that music making is a basic human need. Much like cooking and eating or walking and dancing, talking and singing are essential in our development, identity and engagement with the world.
Lyndal grew up singing and she still loves to have a good sing with lots of laughs!
Her many years of singing leadership include establishing and leading Gippsapella and initiating and directing the Gippsland A Cappella Festival for a number of years. She has also had the pleasure to lead several singing groups and choirs both in Melbourne and Gippsland, led the Port Fairy Folk Festival choir with James Rigby & Jane Thompson, worked with large singing groups of students in schools and has worked as a presenter at Community Music singing leadership workshops.
Strat worked for many years as a primary school music teacher, leading school choirs and directing annual school musicals. His recent past projects include the Homebrew Verandah Singers (a men’s singing group based in Melbourne), Glenroy Harmonisers community singing group, the North Carlton Railway House Ramblers and co-leading Gippsapella in the Latrobe Valley. Strat is particularly skilled at engaging men in exuberant singing and performance!
Together Strat and Lyndal’s singing workshops are guaranteed to engage all comers in an entertaining and enjoyable fashion, finding moments of true beauty and participants are sure to walk away with a swag of great songs, increased confidence in their own singing abilities and smile on their face!
